Community Education

Community Education classes, programs, seminars, workshops, and camps offer a variety of opportunities for cultural,
educational, and life-enriching activities for all ages. Offered in a relaxed non-credit atmosphere at an affordable price,
all activities are designed to be informative and enjoyable.

Registration

High school graduation or previous college attendance is NOT required to take a community course.  To register and pay for a community course, students may use one of the following options: (1) Call 870-864-7163 to register and pay by credit card; (2) Go to the bookstore on the West Campus to register and pay; (3) Go to the Center for Workforce Development on the East Campus to pay (must have correct amount or a check).  Students are officially registered in a course when they complete registration and pay fees by one of the options available.  The College reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment. Register early so the class you want doesn’t cancel because we did not know you were planning on coming. If a class is full, you can be put on a waiting list for the next class.

Fees
Course fees vary with the length of classes and course content. Please check the schedule.  Fees usually include supplies or textbooks unless otherwise noted.

Refunds
A full refund of fees paid will be made when classes are canceled by us.  Full refunds will also be made to students who cancel one week before the first class meeting.  Refunds may be obtained by making a written request to the Community Education office.  When the student misses the refund deadline, they may substitute someone in their place.

Schedules
Schedules of the Corporate and Community Education courses are prepared three times per year and an email notice of availability is sent to those who are registered to receive e-mail notices about classes.  The schedule may be viewed and/or printed from the Continuing Education tab (then click on Community Classes) of SouthArk’s website at www.southark.edu.
