This position is charged with the instruction of adult education courses in multiple areas including WAGE, workforce/community courses, adult basic education, integrated education and training, and re-entry students. The position may be required to teach in person and/or online classes. The instructor works under the general supervision of the Director of Adult Education. This is a part-time position and will work 8 to 20 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Educates students according to program guidelines
• Collaborates with the ADED Advisor to create and update individualized learning plans for each student.
• Maintains accurate documentation of classes, attendance, evaluations, and other related information.
• Administers student assessments
• Participates in program recruitment and retention activities
• Attends required trainings, professional development, and meetings
• Provides exceptional customer service to prospects, students, and community partners.
• Represents the program in the community, identify resources, identify potential partners, and be an advocate for SouthArk Adult Education
• Performs any other related duties as required or assigned

Required Education and Experience:

• Earned bachelor’s degree
• Current Arkansas Department of Education teaching license

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Experience teaching in an adult education program
• Current Arkansas Adult Education teaching certification

• Instruction at off-campus approved facilities
