The individual in the Outreach and Career Coach position will work with various internal and external groups to identify candidates for the non-credit welding training program. This includes providing individuals program orientation, registration, and continued career guidance throughout the program. The individual will also work with business and industry to identify employment needs and work to fulfill those needs with work-based learning opportunities and job placement assistance for successful participants. This is a grant funded position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide outreach to prospective students concerning program offerings and available careers
• Identify and advise prospective students concerning program pathways and career goals
• Assist students with the registration process
• Deliver continuous career guidance and support to students from initial training to the workplace
• Provide outreach to prospective business and industry partners concerning program goals
• Work with business and industry to identify career opportunities in the region
• Coordinate program activities with business and industry to include curriculum development, work-based learning opportunities, mentoring, and job placement
• Provide outreach to local and regional agencies concerning program awareness and prospective student identification
• Maintain accurate programmatic documentation and student/industry-related records
• Submit required program reports in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent computer skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional Organizational skillsRequired Education and Experience:
Associate degree in an industrial field or a related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an industrial setting
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in an industrial field or related field
5 years’ experience in an industrial setting
Physical Requirements:
The ability to:
Travel to visit industrial sites
Stand for long periods of time
Operate computer and presentation media
