Serve as Head Men’s basketball coach

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

Recruit and enroll qualified student athletes for successful participation in NJCAA basketball program; plan, organize, schedule and conduct practices and games; prepare a schedule in conjunction with the Athletic Director’s office that complies with institutional and departmental goals and objectives; coordinate team travel; monitor and support the academic progression of team members, develop and enforce team policies and represent program to external constituents; adhere to all NJCAA sport rules and regulations; attend all required NJCAA meetings; manage and conduct a yearly inventory of all uniforms and equipment; develop and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, students, media, alumni, and boosters; demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and conduct becoming of the coaching profession;  develop fundraisers to improve the basketball program; and conduct basketball camps to provide a community service to the youth in our area and any other interested youths.

 

Qualifications and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred; Strong organizational, communications and leadership and computer skills required; Experience at the intercollegiate level as a coach and/or player preferred; Verifiable clean driving record

 

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; Experience at the intercollegiate level as a coach and/or player preferred

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

Master’s degree preferred. Experience at the intercollegiate level as a coach and player preferred.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervision of student athletes, assistant coaches, and other basketball related personnel, including volunteers.

 

Work Environment:

Ability to function as head coach. Evening and weekend hours are required.

Physical Demands:

Exerting up to 40 pounds occasionally.

 

Travel Requirements:

Travel to practices and games are required

Direct Reports:

Assistant coaches and basketball-related personnel, including volunteers

 

Other Job Duties:

Depending on qualifications and availability, there may be opportunities for full-time employment, which could include performing student services related duties or teaching college courses.
