The SouthArk Star Service Project Coordinator is a full-time position reporting to the Library Director at South Arkansas Community College. This position is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of activities covered under the Institutional Resilience and Expanded Post-Secondary Opportunity (IREPO) grant program from the U.S. Department of Education, as well as related tasks and responsibilities. The Project Coordinator will liaise with SouthArk Library staff, Academic Support staff, and the SouthArk Star Service Concierge as part of the Star Service Team, focused on enhanced support to online learners enrolled at South Arkansas Community College.

Responsibilities

Specifically, the Project Coordinator will:

  • Oversee, track, and manage development and delivery of the IREPO grant, implementing project activities, reporting progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver professional development content to SouthArk faculty focused on library tools and resources, Microsoft Office, and open educational resources (OER). These offerings will be developed and scheduled in collaboration with SouthArk Library staff, Academic Support staff, Information Technology staff, and SouthArk’s academic divisions.
  • Develop and deliver professional development content to the library staff working in branches of the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library System, focused on deploying SouthArk’s academic support tools and technology into the libraries for regionally-located students.
  • Collaborate with SouthArk’s concurrent enrollment team to increase the number of dual-enrollment offerings and increase the prospects for successful degree completion for dually-enrolled and post-secondary students.
  • Collaborate with SouthArk Library staff and Student Services staff to design and deploy effective student engagement strategies for online learners.
  • Design and host student-centered events and activities in the branches of the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library System.
  • Manage and operate the SouthArk Library laptop loaning program and contactless pick-up using lockers located at the library.
  • Schedule and facilitate synchronous informal team meetings and meetings with students as needed.
  • Work to promote substantive interaction between faculty and students, focused on the use of technology, OER, and online tools.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Technical Certificate in a related field required, Associates Degree preferred
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with or proficiency in various technical platforms, such as Microsoft Office, Blackboard, Springshare library products, TLC integrated library systems.
  • Interest in library and academic support work
  • Reference or technical service in a library setting (academic, public, or school)
  • Willingness to learn
