HARRISON—Postseason honors were plentiful for the South Arkansas College Stars at the Region 2 Tournament this week.

Though both the men’s team (16-9) and the women’s team (6-15) saw their seasons end with first-round exits in the tournament, they also both had players who stood out during the regular season and thus were selected for the All-Region 2 Team.

Sophomore standout Jay Key was named the men’s region’s Player of the Year. The Dubach, Louisiana, forward averaged region-best 18.9 points a game and has collected multiple offers to continue play at the university level.

Freshman forward Lavion Owens of Monroe, Louisiana, was named to the men’s All-Region 2 Team after averaging a double-double on the season, in scoring and rebounds. Owens led the region in rebounding with 10.3 a game, and was in the top 10 in scoring per game with 16.6 points.

Freshman guard Cammi Christie of Perryville was named to the women’s All-Region 2 Team after averaging 15.3 points a game.
