• Non-traditional student (age 24 or older)

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 hours), or as a part-time student (minimum 6 hours)

• Up to $300 each semester, based on availability of funds.

• Pays for tuition, fees, and/or books and supplies.

Eligibility

• Completion of six (6) or more hours at SouthArk and have a minimum of 2.0 GPA in prior coursework.

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 hours) or as a part-time student (minimum 6 hours).

• Copy of transcript must be submitted with completed scholarship application.

• Student must have applied for and been denied all other types of financial aid, excluding student loans.

• Submit two (2) letters of recommendation, one from a nursing faculty and one from a member of the community, documenting evidence of a desire to pursue an education

• Submit an essay (minimum 250 words) on why student has chosen the field of nursing

• Completion of second semester in the nursing program with a 3.0 GPA

• Based on a letter of recommendation from a nursing faculty person

Award

• Valued at $250 per semester with a maximum duration of four (4) consecutive semesters

• Pays for tuition, fees and/or textbooks

• Successfully participated in a concurrent credit program during high school

• Completion of a minimum of four (4) college hours with a GPA of 2.5 in a concurrent credit enrollment program

• Minimum 2.5 GPA on high school or college course work

• Enrolled in at least six (6) hours each semester at SouthArk

• Must be seeking a degree in health sciences technology, auto service technology, welding, criminal justice, information and business technology, general studies, or the Industrial Engineering Technology program (chemical process technology, electrical and instrumentation, and industrial maintenance).
