South Arkansas Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a non-credit welding instructor. This is a 12-month (20 hours per week) position that may require evening or weekend classes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
NA
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, revise, and deliver welding curriculum
Collaborate with program outreach/career coach
Assist with employer and industry outreach
Maintain student/program records
Skills and Abilities:
The instructor should possess the knowledge, skill, and ability to teach Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum five years’ welding experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
Teaching Experience
Associate Degree in Welding Technology
AWS Certification
NCCER welding certification
Physical Requirements:
The Ability to:
Teach, supervise, and interact with welding students
Operate all welding program equipment
Stand for long periods of time
Lift 50 pounds
